Shri P. Lahiri
Shri P. Lahiri has acquired B.E. degree in Electrical Engineering from Regional Engineering College, Durgapur in the year 1978. After successful completion of one year OCES training programme of 22nd batch of BARC Training School, Shri Lahiri joined Engineering Services Group of BARC as Scientific Officer/C. He started his professional journey as engineer of Technical Services Division, BARC and was associated with design, engineering and erection of infrastructure projects. During later part of career he steered the development of new BARC campus at Vishakhapatnam. Before retirement he was holding the responsibility of Regional Director, BARC Facilities, Visakhapatnam for planning, Design and construction of new campus of BARC at Visakhapatnam. He retired as Distinguished Scientist. As the recognition of his contribution to the Department, he was awarded the DAE Special Achievement Award in 2011. After superannuation in January 2016, Shri Lahiri was involved in Design Safety review committee of various projects of BARC. Shri Lahiri has been appointed as Secretary, Atomic Energy Education Society w.e.f. 07-04-2019.
Shri S Sarkar
Shri S. Sarkar has acquired his B.Tech (Hons.) degree in Chemical Engineering from IIT, Kharagpur in the year 1978. After successful completion of one year OCES programme in Chemical Engineering from the 22nd batch of BARC Training School, Shri Sarkar joined BARC on 1st August 1979 as Scientific Officer/C. Shri Sarkar has been awarded the Homi Bhabha Science & Technology Award in 2016. The Department of Atomic Energy has awarded Raja Ramanna Fellowship to Shri Sarkar and also his services are utilized by the Department as Chairman of various safety committees. In addition to Raja Ramanna Fellowship, Shri Sarkar has been appointed as Chairman, Atomic Energy Education Society w.e.f 16.11.2018 for a duration of three years with the responsibility of ensuring smooth functioning of 31 Atomic Energy Central Schools and Junior Colleges located in various parts of the country.
